March is here, and we are looking forward to a month full of learning and active fun as the weather begins to warm up!

With more outdoor play and movement during recess and P.E., we want to ensure all students are able to participate safely. Please make sure your child wears secure, closed-toe athletic shoes to school. While Crocs are comfortable, they are not safe for active play. Students wearing Crocs will not be able to participate in basketball or soccer during recess or running activities during P.E. Tripping and shoes coming off have led to an increased number of nurse visits.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep all students safe, active, and ready to learn!

March Madness
We are excited that the JWI PTAG will be hosting a March Madness 3 vs. 3 Basketball Tournament on March 11, held in the gym and on the outdoor basketball courts. There will be both a recreational bracket and a competitive bracket; however, students may only participate in one bracket. Students will form their own teams, create team names, and are welcome to dress to match their team theme. Game times will be announced after the March 4 sign-up deadline.

The entry fee is $5 per student ($15 per team).

Please note that this event is for JWI students and staff only. In order to maintain a safe and structured environment, spectators will not be permitted to attend.

Students have been waiting for this event all year! We are so excited!

Select Finance Committee
We are soliciting names of parents who might be interested in learning the “Ins and outs” of school finance for our Select Finance Sessions this Spring.  The dates for this year’s sessions are:

Thursday, March 12, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, Revenue Streams, Funds, Bond Process

Thursday, April 2, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, State Aid Formula

Tuesday, April 21, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, Legislative Process and Advocacy

Also, participants will have the opportunity to attend a tour of facilities on March 24 with our Bond Issue Task Force.

Oklahoma State Testing Program (OSTP)
Jenks West Intermediate's dates for state testing are below. To meet the state requirement, we must test all of our students. Please make sure your child arrives at school on time and please remember to schedule all appointments after school hours on testing days. If you know ahead of time that your child will be absent on one of the testing days, please fill out this form so that we can get a testing session scheduled for him/her prior to the absence.

OSTP Practice Tests Available
Online practice tests for the 2026 Oklahoma School Testing Program (OSTP) are now available for students and families. These practice tests are a great way for students to become familiar with the online testing format and tools they will use during state testing. Students will practice using these tools with their teachers at school before testing. We also wanted families to have the opportunity to see the format and explore the practice tests at home if they choose.

The practice tests help students get comfortable with:
•Online navigation and tools
•Multiple-choice questions
•Short answer and extended response questions
•Interactive, technology-enhanced questions

Please note: These practice questions are for practice only and are not meant to predict how a student will score on the actual test.
